I am interested in sowing necessary conversations about who we are and where we are going. We all have our niche in global healing and I have found mine as a spoken word ecologist. I want to stitch our edges together so we can cover hearts with forests again. I seek to enact the evolution I need to survive, as a planet and as a human.

Contact me to grow an event together!

You are a bookstore, a church, a yoga studio, a cafe, a school, a library, a reading series, a gardening club, anywhere people gather and dream

I am an ecologist with over 10 years leading experiential education programs. I have facilitated open mics, readings, writing workshops, classes, and community conversations connecting personal and planetary healing, arts and ecology, and far beyond.

An event with Frederick Livingston is not your usual poetry reading. Yes, he does read poems–lovely ones reminding us of our beautiful, vulnerable natural world–but he also engages the audience in conversation…. He helps us see a more hopeful view of our role in the world. We shouldn’t throw up our hands and surrender to a dystopian view. Our smallest gestures can make a difference, if only we shift our thinking.”

-Vera Wildauer, Writing Program Lead, Hoffman Center

“Frederick Livingston is that rare poet who brings award-winning talent together with a deep personal understanding of ecology, a wonderful dose of humor, and an inspiring commitment to bring people together to address large issues that humanity faces such as climate change. I saw Frederick bring all this together recently at an open mic that I co-organize… He blew our socks off!

– Frank Hall, host of Poetics Corvallis
